2012 Recap: Jordan River Banks

BM- Ultra

The past year started off with a bang as the long-awaited Black Marvel debut ‘BM-Ultra‘ dropped. Largely mixed by Banks and featuring 6 of his productions, this album marks an era of intense creative collaboration.

Tapes:

2012 also saw the release of 3 Jordan River Banks instrumental tapes, in themselves a recap of the past wave of Banks’ work for Godz Wrath Productions.

First up was ‘Dutch Courage‘, featuring Banks’ productions for Holland’s hardest.
Next up was ‘Planet 2 Planet‘, featuring his works for the Black Market/Maccabees families.
The third installment of the instrumental series was ‘Loophole‘, featuring more heat from Banks’ collection.

Also, some tracks from the vaults saw the light this year. Never before released material surfaced from both the US and NL.

The Document 7″

For Banks, the high point of the year is marked by his release of a 7″ vinyl, carrying the remix for Killah Priest’s ‘the Document’ and featuring on the b-side the first release of Banks’ venture into other realms of music: Ma’at’s ‘the Cantor of Addis’. The single was released on Ma’at Records, with much much more to come…

2013:

Under the radar, Banks laid the finishing touches on production and mix for Killah Priest’s P.W.O.W.R; continued the work on the Ma’at project with a range of instrumentalists;  explored new grounds with different singers; and started production on Killah Priest’s album-in-making ‘Planet of the Godz’.

2013 will see the release of Killah Priest’s PWOWR on the 25th of february. One of Banks’ track for this album, ‘Nazareth’, is featured on tha Advocate’s mixture ‘Digital Dynasty 23′.
